  • General or systemic corticosteroid therapy

     

    Administration of cortisone or one of its derivatives, either in tablets (oral route) or injections (parenteral route). General corticosteroid therapy is a powerful treatment for certain inflammatory conditions, which can have many side effects if taken for prolonged periods. General corticosteroid therapy is rarely necessary in atopic dermatitis cases.
