Abstract :  The world of Atopic Dermatitis is full of new findings that will directly impact patient education. New studies on filaggrin mutations will cause us to change our perspectives about bacterial colonization of the skin, since we now know that staphylococcus epidermis helps the immune system. Publications about the monitoring and development of products that repair the epidermal barrier and filaggrin mutations will steer our work in a new direction.

The patient, not the medical staff, is in control.  Therapeutic education increases the efficacy of treatment and causes better adhesion to treatment by the patient, since it facilitates a better quality of life...

The internet has changed our lives and the way we access information. The center in San Diego distributes information via the website The internet should be used as a source of information since nowadays it is difficult to ensure that patients come and participate in our information and training sessions. On the website, care modules are provided for patients by the nurses and exchanges are dynamic and the information is spread. Even though we encourage our patients to use this new communication tool to have access to our care modules (bleach baths) there remains a risk of the spread of unfiltered information potentially harmful for patients when they carry out their own research....
